Could you please disable student's ability to change their first name?

Every month students choose names that are different than their first name on the roster. Last month alone, I have 4 students changing their first names. For example, Charlie instead of Carlos, JWho(?) instead of Justin, etc.

This makes grading more difficult since I consistently have to go back and check if they are the correct student. This is especially frustrating for student's whose last name is common, like Smith, Ortez, etc.

I understand FSO wants to be "hip" and allow students to use the first name they feel comfortable with, but can you imagine if the goverment allowed this? What name would you make up for your driver's license? I know I would choose "Jwho"...

I'd like the ability to edit comments I've left on a student's work.

Sometimes I submit a comment and then immediately realize something like a typo or the accidentally misspelling of a student's name, but there's no way to fix it and I just have to post a second comment with an apology and correction, plus add a to the grade box in order to actually add a new comment.

It would be helpful to have the roster indicate if student is repeating my class.

Discussion Post Dates on Grading Side

Can the dates of each of the discussion posts be added to the grading side of the discussions on FSO? This would make it easier to track late posts on that side rather than searching through the Discussion Board itself to track dates. Currently all we see are the posts listed in order numerically, but no dates.

I have been enjoying the FSO Tool Kit. Very, very "sexy" indeed! Thank you very much for this well-thought out and elegant tool.


Please resist the urge to "fix" or "expand" its features no matter how much we beg for more. It is simply awesome as it is. Lean, elegant, and efficient. Keep up the great work.

Student Email Feed on the LMS

Our students don't seem to check their email and miss out on important information. I would be fantastic if when they logged in to the platform it also loged them into their student email.


Maybe a side bar or ticker feed with there email right there?

Video comments

It would be awesome if we could create video feedback for the students rather than typing out details since many of the comments are similar yet customized for each student.

Copy Forward Feature

When we copy forward, the list of activities along with their push and pull dates is visible thereby making the copy forward process simple.  Would it be possible to set up the reference and announcement sections in the same manner?  Thank you!

FSO Kit grade entry allows you to enter grades over 100%

I entered 10000% one coffee loaded morning. The grade stuck in FSO and wasn't caught until a grade audit.

Tool is great. for our course we have to zero out over 30 sections of test that the studnts did not submit. having the kit work on the TEST grade page would be great

Resize Assignment Instruction Window

It would be most beneficial to be able to resize the instruction window in FSO.  Right now we can only see about 10 lines of text.  This situation is not conducive to catching continuity issues and verifying completeness.
